Knight of the Temple: Part 2 of the Templar Trilogy
Guillaume de Beaujeu arrives back in France from Acre disillusioned with his world. His voyage was arranged by the Grand Master of the Knights Templar on condition that he spends a month in retreat at Fontenay. The prospect of his becoming a monk displeases his mother. Her actions to sabotage this possibility merely harden Guillaume’s resolve. He is received into the Order and introduced to their regime of spiritual and military training. His long desire for knowledge is soon satisfied within the Order. With each step in his spiritual training he receives more glimpses of the secrets so jealously guarded by the Order. However, the Order is also a Military Order supplying men and materiel in support of the beleaguered Kingdom of Jerusalem. Guillaume is put in charge of a contingent of knights being sent to the East. There he becomes embroiled in the politics and intrigues between the various factions governing that realm while at the same time defending the realm from the armies of the Sultan of Egypt. After many years there, he is appointed the Order’s Preceptor of Apulia and returns to Europe. There he is soon embroiled in intrigues of the Pope and his cousin, Charles of Anjou, as they set out to change the face of the East.

Doc fetch goes through Layer's Aerospike pull-through cache; cache hit served the row without touching turbopuffer. The similar query re-embeds this product's title with CLIP-text and runs a vector query — queries don't go through the doc cache, so no cache header is set.
