About the Author In his former life Robert Stava was a Graphic Designer and Art Director who honed his trade in the NYC Advertising biz at Young & Rubicam NY and J. Walter Thompson. He went on to head up the 3d Media Group in the NY offices of Arup, an international design firm based out of London, where he and his team developed 3d visualizations and animations for a wide range of major projects in the U.S. and abroad. He's toured around the world as a keynote speaker on the 3d Visualization industry, was a lead singer and guitar player in his band 'The Jag' on the alternative NYC music scene for many years and is an avid history buff. He currently lives in Ossining, NY with his wife Tomiko, a professional ballet dancer and teacher, and now divides his time between writing, reading, wrestling his dog, juggling the cat and painting Hudson River landscapes. Robert serves as a trustee on the Ossining Historical Society, is a member of the Ossining Arts Council and continues to train in traditional style Japanese Karate. He is cuurently a 2nd Degree Black belt. He is also author and designer of "Combat Recon: 5th Air Force Images from the SW Pacific 1943-45" (Schiffer Publishing, 2007), a historical account based around his great uncle's service as a combat photographer during WWII.
