About the Author Colleen Muriel Originally from Canada, composer and flautist Colleen Muriel now lives in England. Her compositions and arrangements cover a wide range of styles moving from folk music through to the avant-garde. Included are solo vocal works, piano solos, pieces for chamber ensembles, string quartets, lots of flute music and simple folk and hymn tunes. The first two concerts of Colleen s compositions were given in 1997 and 1998 at the Lutheran Campus Centre, Vancouver, Canada. Since then her music has been performed in a number of countries including England, Australia, and the United States. She is a member of Women in Music, U.K.; the Canadian League of Composers; British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors; Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers of Canada; the National Flute Association, British Flute Society, and All Souls Orchestra, London. She is also listed in the British Yearbook and the European Yearbook of Contemporary Women Composers (Italy). Her church music is represented by Christian Copyright Licencing International (CCLI) and her hymns sung by various congregations within the London area.
