About the Author Reverend Marcia M. Cham is a retired pastor in the United Church of Christ and lives in western North Carolina with her husband Ken. She works as an on-call Chaplain at a nearby medical center. She has three married children and six grandchildren. She grew up in Ohio, attended Ohio University, and earned her Masters of Divinity at Boston University School of Theology. Her career path has evolved from science teacher to wood carver to pastor and now to author. With this first book behind her she is rewriting "The Gertie Stories" and working on two other books; one, a fictional account of her struggle with the institutional church, and the other, "Reflections from Tantur: An Ecumenical Institute in Israel/Palestine." For fun Cham is working on "1739 Sackett-A Memoir of Life with Evie and Willie." Cham is an active member of the High Country Writers in Boone, North Carolina. --This text refers to the
