101 Single Wing Plays

About the Author Tom Lewis is currently a varsity assistant football coach at Galion (OH) High School. He began his coaching career in 1991 at Colonel Crawford High School in North Robinson, Ohio, as a varsity assistant. During his tenure, Colonel Crawford won two North Central Conference league championships. In 1997, he joined the staff at Shelby (OH) High School as the special teams coordinator before returning to Colonel Crawford the following season as the offensive coordinator. In 2001, he joined the staff at Plymouth (OH) High School as the defensive coordinator. In 2003, he became the head football coach and implemented the single wing offense. After four years as head coach at Plymouth, he stepped down to spend more time with his family. Lewis was a presenter at the 2004 Single Wing Conclave Clinic in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and has developed numerous instructional DVDs on the single wing offense. His love of the single wing offense dates back to his youth and was founded by the stories and game film of his late father s 1950 s Shelby High School Whippets team and the single wing they ran. He continues to run versions of the single wing offense at Galion today.Lewis played strong safety for the Northern Ohio League Championship Shelby High School Whippets football team in 1984. He is a graphic design and digital media teacher at Plymouth High School. He lives in Shelby, Ohio, with his wife, Mellanie, and children, Colton and Kirsten.
