We Chose Alaska
About the Author I was born in Lowell, MA. Enlisted in the navy at age 17. Lived in California and became a hairstylist and a salon owner. I married Marcia in 1965. We were both involved in hunting and moved to Alaska, after Australia had turned down our request, to hunt crocodiles in Darwin! "Thanks Australia!" Attended AMU in Anchorage and received my diploma in 1969 with a major in French and a minor in Geology. Taught in Anchorage, then got the bug to teach in the Bush! This is our fascinating love story that has survived more than a half century-still going on!
