Rice Pudding in a Duvet: a journey home, with snacks
About the Author Heather Gartside writes about what she knows. That list is long and unusual, but probably accounts for her first novel, 'Rice Pudding in a Duvet', being classified under fiction, food, memoir and humour. Heather is an English author, currently living in Denmark with a danish husband, three children - with american accents, two mean Jack Russell dogs - with a taste for cats, and two hamsters - who stay up all night with her when she writes. In the past thirty years she's moved house and country more times than she's had hot dinners; and it's those international dinners that have now inspired her latest book, "Rice Pudding in a Duvet, the journey home with snacks." Throughout the time spent hopping around the world, she gained her spurs as a writer who looks intensly into cultural differences, history, the oddness of people, the goodness in people...and yummy food. It's recipes that inspire the titles of her chapters, but once you start reading, laughing and sobbing you realise that this book shouldn't really be in the cookery section at all. If it existed, then it should be in the "quirky" section. With her wings firmly clipped, and trying to look like she's settled in Denmark forever, Heather travels in her mind these days and entertains us with wit, warmth and worldliness. (Hopefully the book will be a smash hit and she'll travel the world with book signing tours in the near future instead!) She wears many different hats; former jet setter, world traveller, fashion designer, artist, cook, historian, art teacher, mum and writer. Now older, wiser and ready to spill the beans about the thrills, spills, despair and hilarity on the long journey home - with a pinch of sea salt!

Doc fetch goes through Layer's Aerospike pull-through cache; cache hit served the row without touching turbopuffer. The similar query re-embeds this product's title with CLIP-text and runs a vector query — queries don't go through the doc cache, so no cache header is set.
