FRONT PORCH STORIES: Memories of Old Florida
Join Nira Sue Trammell and her friends on her front porch as she shares stories of her days as a small child, during the Depression. Without electricity or running water, she lived at Boy Scout Camp Echockotee in Orange Park, Florida. In the deep, dark woods she created a world of her own, as her father built cabins and fences and her mother foraged in the woods and fished for food. These stories of Old Florida during the Depression are a timeless testament to the will of strong, fearless, rural southerners.Follow Nira as she grows up during and after World War II in the Ortega neighborhood of Jacksonville. You will meet her amazing mother, Miss Kate, who grew up in Georgia after the Civil War. When she moved back to town, Miss Kate still had chickens running loose and a fire to heat her washtub for the laundry. Experience Nira’s hard decision to quit school at 16 to help support her family and her gratitude to a caring teacher who showed her a way out.

Doc fetch goes through Layer's Aerospike pull-through cache; cache hit served the row without touching turbopuffer. The similar query re-embeds this product's title with CLIP-text and runs a vector query — queries don't go through the doc cache, so no cache header is set.
